Rocky VII: Adrian's Revenge

So as bad as this is, and as much as I try to keep it a secret for fear of being mocked by my peers, I am so totally fucking uber-psyched for the new Rocky movie. What's that you say? You had no idea they're making another Rocky? Well over at Rocky Balboa Blog they have posted three new pictures from the flick as well as a little Stallone interview about why Rocky is back for one more fight.

You see when we last left Rocky he was down and out, back in his old stomping grounds but now he has been offered a comeback match that will give him back all of the money that his dumb brother-in-law Paulie lost in Rocky V. So now that Rocky is all alone, as Adrian has apparently died and his son is all grown up, he's coming out of retirement and risking it all. I am like so fucking Episode 3 excited for this. I just finished the Rocky video game on Gamecube and watched Rocky and Rocky V in the last few days. I am a total mark for this kinda shit. You can make fun of me if you wish but Rocky lives and fuck anyone who doesn't like it, and if you really have that big of a problem about it well... "Hey yo... My ring's outside."

Oh, I'm Very Aroused!!!

So I've been surfing the net lately looking for different products for Zombie Day (Coming soon to somewhere)... So far I have decided on mouse pads, coffee mugs, t-shirts and quite possibly there will be a hoodie as well. If anyone out there has any ideas for what else I could slap a Zombie Day logo on please let me know!

Time Sink:

Reading movie news over on www.superherohype.com I see that they have cast that broad who played the blind chick in The Village as... get this true believers!... GWEN STACY! That's right comic fans, we're finally going to see Gwen on the big screen causing problems with ol' Petey Parker and his beloved M.J.. The only problem I have with this is it's two movies too late. Gwen was Spidey-Man's first love, not some one who showed up later on to cause shit. Oh well, better late than never I guess.

Also I saw The Dark Knight Strikes Back statue online for only $44.99 USD!!! So I ordered one... I couldn't resist! It has a price of $331.95 in Canada so that was a huge savings and it looks so fucking pimp! It's under the Specials section on the main page.

Re-reading a lot of Powers lately... Fuck man, Bendis is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Or is sliced bread the greatest thing since Bendis? Hmmm? Got you thinking now don't I? Anyone who has never read a Powers trade will die cold and alone right before being sent to the Hell of a thousand stinging nettles. This guy has been really cranking out some of the most amazing work I have ever read in any medium. He's rapidly becoming my all time fave, almost catching up to Gaiman, Miller and Moore.

Watched Joyride with Cindy the other night then kept creeping her out by trying to kiss her while calling her Candy Cane. Always good for a laugh.

Hmmmm anything else interesting? Well the new season of 24 started with a bang! Literally! In case any of you haven't seen it yet I won't say what happened but HOLY FUCK I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY SHOT... Oops... Almost ruined it for ya...

Also I have finally finished The O.C. season deux. Holy crap what a great show this is! Again not to spoil anything but HOLY FUCK I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY SHOT... Shitballs... I almost did it again.

Ok well I'm out for now, tune in tomorrow for a new episode, same ass-grabbing time, same ass-grabbing channel!

My first review of 2006

Ok here come my first reviews of 2006! Are you guys ready? HOKAY!

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe : 5 outta 6

The only reason I didn't give it a 6 is because of it's obviously overt Christian symbolism, and I prefer to not be beaten over the noggin' with religious symbols when I pay ten bucks for a movie. If you want me to be ok with the religious overtones then rename it The Lion, The Witch and A Whole Bunch O' Christ, which I think is a pretty catchy title. Anyhoo religion aside I really really enjoyed this movie. Considering that all the kids in the movie are fairly inexperienced actors (and pretty ugly children too) I was totally satisfied with all the performances. Aslan was brought to life with some pretty good CG and the battle scene was fantastic. There wasn't much that was left lacking in this film other than it was too short! I was expecting a three hour LOTR-style epic and instead got two and a half. I hope that they are already working on sequels for this because it is easily one of the greatest family movies to come out since Mary Poppins flew over London on her little ol' umbrella.

Vulgar : 4 outta 6

I know this an older movie but I just got it on DVD and rewatched it again. What an intense film this is. Written and directed by Bryan Johnson (Steve-Dave from the Kevin Smith movies), this is an incredibly harsh flick with one of the most graphic and disturbing things I have ever seen. Brian O'Halloran plays a struggling clown who is trying to make it big and comes up with an idea to be a clown named Vulgar for bachelor parties. Well this plan goes terribly awry when he goes to his first gig which turns out to be some insane dad and his two hillbilly sons who brutally rape Vulgar and videotape the whole thing. I don't want to give anymore of the movie away but wow is it ever good. The acting in it isn't the greatest but the writing is brilliant. I highly recommend this to almost anyone who enjoys weird twisted films.

Lazy Sunday : 5 outta 6

This SNL skit is so funny! Click the link above to watch it! Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg do a little rap about going to see the Chronic-what-cles of Narnia. Check it out and laugh. One of the funniest skits I've seen in awhile.

So more to come eventually hope you are all having a happy New Year so far.

Hello '06 and Get The Fuck Out '05

So happy New Year's to all that I haven't seen or talked to yet. Hope they were gooders all around. I went to Crawshaws house where we all got drunk and played games and had fun. Woke up the next day at 11ish then went home and stayed in bed until about an hour ago (it's 11:39AM). My first day of 2006 was spent in bed with my wonderful girlfriend watching Night of the Living Dead, Men In Black 2, Spider-Man, Hulk, and then X-Men. All this while drinking pop, eating McDonalds and ordering pizza (so much for eating healthy this year!). Oh yeah, I also had the worst hangover ever and threw up somewhere in there... I can't even remember the last time I threw up and I sure as hell don't miss it. Blechh. Anyhoo I really don't have much more to say at this time other than I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's and good luck to everyone with their resolutions that will be distant memories come March ;)
